This steamer makes the best foam for hot chocolates, cappiccinos, lattes, etc. It's impossible to create the same effect at home without it. Nothing gets the milk hot enough or produces the little bubbles that make the foam so lovely on top of a hot cup of drink. Maybe a bit pricey, but for the desired results, this is the way to go.

This little steamer is a refreshing reminder of what high quality manufacturing standards can yield.It is fabulous. I recommend 1/4 the amount of milk you think you need, microwave for thirty seconds, transfer to frothing pitcher, and this steamer will carmalize the milk sugars to perfection. Champaigne quality bubbly froth. Well made.

I love this steamer so much. Previously I had the 'automatic' kind of Espresso maker/steamer. This does a better job and never fails to work (I've used it on a campstove as well as at home.) I make sure it has enough water by shaking it a bit, put it on high and wait for it to start to release a bit of steam from the handle. I then release the valve to clear the bit of condensation, close it back up and put it in the milk. I've got a couple of stoneware bowls with flat bottoms that work great to set the pitcher on so I can steam the milk while I get breakfast going. It does really nice fine bubbles and makes great cappuccinos and lattes. The only maintenance it's required in the 4 years I've owned it is to wipe off the outside (especially the tip dipped in the milk)daily and to occasionally remove the tip completely to give it an extra good cleaning.
