This is a fantastic stainless steel espresso maker. Looks very nice on the stove (says my wife), and is well built. The threads are large and very smooth, and the handle is great. (We put the pot on the edge of our electric burner, so the handle never gets hot anyway, but it is just the right size and very sturdy, kind of like a matte finish Faberware pot handle).Mind didn't come with directions, but Cuban friends taught me how to use it. I also found excellent directions quickly searching on the Web.I have a trick for getting rid of the odor of a new gasket. First, follow the advice on the tiny "recommendations" tag to brew several batches not for drinking (I reused the same grounds a couple of times). Then, mix a 1:2 solution of baking soda to water, just enough to submerge the gasket. Let the gasket sit in the solution overnight, and in the morning, you are ready to go!For trouble free brewing, make sure their aren't any coffee grounds or water droplets in the threads, and tighten securely.We enjoy either Pilon or Bustelo, affordable and easy to find at supermarkets, and we look forward to trying some espresso beans to grind at home.My wife and I are typical coffee enthusiasts, so this six-cup size is just right for two large cortaditos in the morning. Also works out when we have a guest or two over who want straight espresso. (We bought the little set of four white BIA Cordon Bleu espresso cups with this.)Liked this and the cups so much we sent the 4 cup (otherwise identical) model and the cups to friends as a housewarming gift.

I have the Mukka which works OK but the espresso tastes a bit burnt. It's also hard to clean and closing it properly is a challenge.I bought this one for an RV trip, and it's amazing!! The taste is AWESOME, and it's easy to clean. The 6-cup was perfect for 3 latte lovers.

I spent a lot of time looking at the reviews of different stovetop espresso makers, and settled on this one. I have only brewed a few pots with it so far, but everything seems to work fine. It does require some care since the filter basket is thin, but I can't see that being a problem.This seemed like a good mid-range option. Not the super expensive things nor the cheap-ass aluminum coffee makers. I'm aware that things get overblown by the press, but even the scientific literature seems to have issues with coffee leaching aluminum from cookware into the beverage (e.g. "The effect of beverage preparation method on aluminium content in coffee infusions", J. Inorganic Biochemistry, one of my favorite magazines). Just avoiding aluminum altogether seems like a good option. Though I wouldn't go so far as one reviewer and call this "eco" anything. It's made in a plant powered by dirty coal, so our skies and souls will carry a stain from this product, as with most others.I would give this 5 stars but, as others have noted for similar products, Amazon is misleading in their advertisement of this as an Italian appliance. Sure the parent company appears to be based in Italy, but this is manufactured in China. The quality seems fine in any case, though if it deteriorates quickly I'll post a new review.
